Case Study: How Chipply Transformed Macco Promotions' Workflow

Overview 
Stephen McCammon, owner of Macco Promotions, has seen it all when it comes to e-commerce solutions. As a promotional products distributor who does a large volume of in-house decorating, the problem with other web store platforms was always the back end. The Challenge
Before partnering with Chipply, Macco faced inefficiencies in its order processing workflow. Orders pulled from other platforms required redundant data entry into Syncore, their internal system. This wasn’t just time consuming, it required the work of multiple team members across departments. 

In Macco’s previous system, someone had to input each order and then manually place the order with the supplier. Then they had to break the orders down by process for artwork and production. This workflow involved multiple people and countless touchpoints, creating inefficiencies that often pulled sales and customer service staff away from higher-value tasks like customer engagement and generating new business. 

The Solution

When evaluating solutions, Macco found Chipply’s backend capabilities outperformed all other platforms. Chipply’s digital ordering capabilities also eliminated the need to rekey information manually. Orders could now be submitted with a single click, significantly reducing administrative overhead and improving data accuracy. This allowed Macco’s team to focus on other initiatives that would ultimately improve their customers’ journey.

Using Chipply, one person can manage the entire order process, a job that previously required up to four team members. And a process that once took three to four hours was reduced to just 30 minutes in many cases.

Because Chipply allows for automatic, one-click purchasing, the risk of human error has been virtually eliminated. Chipply’s purchasing integration allows staff to place POs with one click of a button. Automated work orders mean that the Macco team can move into production without having to re-enter any information. And since Macco utilizes ShipStation, that integration allows them to ship orders without resubmitting any data. 

More Time for Sales and Customer Support

By reducing administrative burden, the Macco sales team has more time to focus on what they do best: selling and serving customers. They also leveraged Chipply’s tools to enhance communication and improve how they manage large company stores. The company is transitioning one of their customer service reps to a new role, where she will help to build and maintain Chipply web stores, leaving other staff free to focus on their core functions. Not only will this help the Macco team sell more, but it will significantly improve the overall customer experience. 

The Future 
As Macco looks to the future, they feel confident about Chipply’s willingness to adapt and support their unique needs. Chipply is currently developing a direct integration solution with Syncore, the internal system for Macco and other Facilis members, which will further enhance efficiencies in Macco’s daily workflow.
