A stack of boxes just showed up from your vendor. Which purchase order do they belong to? Which sales order is waiting on them? What happens next?
If you’re already using Chipply’s purchasing tools, you know how much time they save. Generating POs straight from your orders, sending them to vendors, tracking what’s on the way: it’s the part of the workflow dealers tell us they can’t live without.
Now we’re bringing that same power to the other side of the dock.
Meet Receiving: a new, purpose-built view for checking in vendor shipments launching in Chipply this December. It gives your receiving team one page to find a PO, record what arrived, and see exactly where every order stands.
Chipply’s purchasing tools already keep track of what you ordered, which sales orders and work orders each PO supports, and what’s sitting in inventory. Receiving builds on that foundation and puts it in front of your receivers the way they actually work.
The result is a smoother path from purchase to production. Once a shipment is checked in, your team knows what’s ready to decorate and what’s still on the way.
Receiving also introduces a smarter status model. Every item now carries two statuses that work together: one for where it stands with your customer, and one for where it stands with your vendor. Each tells its own story, and both stay in sync across Chipply.
A new Purchase Orders tab in your global navigation gives receivers a dedicated PO listing of their own. Everything they need to check in a shipment starts here, on one page.
The new Process/Sales Order column shows which sale each purchase order belongs to, right in the listing. Chipply already connects every PO to its sales orders; now that connection is visible at a glance, including when a single PO covers multiple sales orders. You'll never have to open a PO just to find out what it's for.
The Products Received column adds a live progress bar to every PO, showing how many ordered units have actually arrived. Backordered units are called out, so nothing slips through.
Say a PO has 26 of 30 units in. You'll see a bar that's not quite full, with any backorders flagged right beside it.
This one works behind the scenes, and it's a big deal. Item status and purchasing status are two separate values that stay connected:
Update either one in Receiving, Purchasing, Order Manager, or Production Manager, and the change lands in the right place without overwriting the other. Book in a unit on the PO detail page, and its purchasing status updates immediately upon save. Where that item stands with your customer stays exactly as it was.
Purchasing and Production Manager keep doing what they do best. Receiving is the new step in between, so shipments move smoothly from "ordered" to "ready for production."
Receiving goes live on December 1 as part of Chipply Production, giving your team one connected workflow from purchase order to production floor.
And that's only the beginning. The next day, we're hosting a live webinar on what's next for Chipply One. Join us for a look at the next phase of Chipply One and a first look at Chipply Business. You'll see how offline sales, invoicing, and reporting come together with your stores and production in one unified system.
